Saudi Arabia Clinches Best Pavilion Award At World Water Forum In Indonesia

At the conclusion of its participation in the 10th World Water Forum held in Bali, Indonesia, from May 18 to 25, 2024, Saudi Arabia received recognition for having one of the top three pavilions at the exhibition. The Kingdom showcased its advancements in the water sector and its contributions to regional and international water issues.

The Saudi delegation, led by Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, represented His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The delegation achieved numerous economic and investment gains, strengthened partnerships, and exchanged knowledge with various countries.

Saudi Wins at World Water Forum

Eng. Al-Fadhli conducted several bilateral meetings to discuss cooperation in water, irrigation, and environmental fields with his counterparts from member states. He extended an invitation to them for the next forum session to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2027.

The closing ceremony featured the official handover of the file to host the 11th World Water Forum in Riyadh in 2027. This event will be held under the theme "Working for a Better Tomorrow." Hosting this forum aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals and underscores its commitment to sustainable development in water resource management.

Representatives from various water system organizations participated in scientific dialogue sessions and presented papers on topics such as water security, sustainable financing, governance, cooperation, disaster risk reduction, and innovation. These sessions aimed to address current and future water challenges.

The Kingdom's pavilion attracted significant attention from visitors, including representatives from participating countries and international companies. It highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts in developing the water sector and showcased its strategic plans for achieving water security and sustainability.

Water system organizations presented their most notable innovations and accomplishments in managing water resources. They also highlighted significant investment opportunities in scientific research, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and desalination technologies.

Saudi Vision 2030

The upcoming hosting of the World Water Forum in Riyadh confirms Saudi Arabia's leadership in addressing global water issues. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritises water security and aims to ensure its availability for all.
