The Saudi Arabia National Center for Meteorology, on Sunday, issued a weather forecast indicating a mix of strong winds, moderate to heavy rain, and possible hail in several regions across the country. This weather event is expected to impact areas including Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah with the most intense conditions predicted.
According to SPA, moderate rainfall is also forecasted for areas in Madinah, Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, marking a significant weather pattern affecting a broad swath of the nation. Additionally, dust-stirring winds are set to affect the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, and Tabuk, potentially impacting visibility and air quality.
The marine forecast for the Red Sea details winds ranging from northerly to northwesterly at speeds of 15-40 km/h in the northern sections. The central parts will experience northwesterly to southwesterly winds at speeds of 12-32 km/h, while the southern parts will see southwesterly to southeasterly winds accelerating to 15-50 km/h. Wave heights could vary from half a meter to more than two meters, indicating conditions from calm to choppy seas.
In contrast, the Arabian Gulf is expected to have southwesterly to southeasterly winds of 15-35 km/h in the northern regions. The central areas will face northeasterly to southeasterly winds at a rate of 10-30 km/h, and the southern parts will experience easterly to northeasterly winds at speeds of 10-25 km/h. Wave heights in the Gulf are forecasted to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, suggesting relatively calm sea conditions.
