Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030: Significant Achievements And Future Goals Highlighted In 2024 Report

Saudi Arabia is progressing rapidly under the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This initiative aims to create a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. The Kingdom's transformation is driven by its rich resources and strategic location.

The Vision 2030 Annual Report 2024 highlights significant achievements in its ninth year. It outlines past successes, future preparations, and ongoing programs. The report details the vision's performance through indicators, showcasing progress across various sectors.

Vision 2030: Key Achievements in 2024 Report

Remarkable milestones have been achieved in several areas. Women's participation in the workforce reached 33.5%, surpassing the 2030 target of 30%. Unemployment fell to 7%, meeting the set goal. The Kingdom's e-participation ranking improved significantly, rising to seventh globally.

In tourism, Saudi Arabia exceeded expectations with over 100 million tourists visiting the country. Eight Saudi sites are now on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Homeownership among Saudi households increased to 65.4%, surpassing the 2025 target.

The Public Investment Fund's assets have tripled since Vision 2030's launch, reaching SAR3.53 trillion. The private sector's GDP contribution rose to 47%, exceeding targets. Military industry localization grew to 19.35% from just 7.7% in 2021.

Saudi universities made significant strides, with four ranking among the world's top 500. King Saud University achieved a global rank of 90th, marking a first for a Saudi institution in the top 100.

Cultural and Environmental Initiatives

Cultural enrichment efforts saw success with cultural elements inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The first specialised college of arts was launched at King Saud University.

Environmental initiatives included planting over 115 million trees and rehabilitating more than 118,000 hectares of land. The agricultural sector contributed SAR114 billion to GDP, while endangered animals were resettled successfully.

Technological Advancements

The Kingdom excelled in digital leadership, ranking first globally in internet users index and second in digital transformation for companies. The sports sector also grew significantly, with sports clubs increasing to 128 and federations rising to 97.

Saudi Arabia hosted major events like the FIFA World Cup bid for 2034 and established the Esports World Cup. Madinah ranked among the top tourist destinations globally for 2024.

Sustainable Development Efforts

Sustainable transportation saw advancements with hydrogen-powered buses and taxis introduced. Renewable energy projects reduced electricity production costs significantly worldwide.

The world's first solar-powered desalination plant was established, highlighting Saudi Arabia's commitment to sustainable development under Vision 2030.

"Nine years into Vision 2030," stated HRH the Crown Prince, "we stand proud of what our people have accomplished." This statement reflects the Kingdom’s achievements as it continues to exceed expectations through effective planning and dedication.
