Saudi Arabia Advocates For Enhanced Technical Assistance And Capacity Building Efforts In Yemen

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international bodies in Geneva took part in a debate on technical assistance and capacity building at the UN Human Rights Council. The mission expressed appreciation for the twelfth report from Yemen's National Commission, which investigates alleged human rights violations. They stressed the need for continued support from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to this commission.

During the 57th session of the Human Rights Council, Asya Baakdah, who leads the Human Rights Section at Saudi Arabia's Permanent Mission, spoke on behalf of the Kingdom. She highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment to restoring peace in Yemen. Baakdah also voiced support for efforts aimed at resolving the crisis and reducing humanitarian suffering among Yemenis, while working towards political solutions to ensure security and stability in Yemen and its surrounding region.
