Saudi Arabia Calls For Global Action To Support Palestinian Cause, Stop Israeli Aggression

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has urged the global community to act swiftly to halt Israeli aggression against unarmed civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Kingdom stressed the need for Israel to be held accountable for the destruction and loss of innocent lives. Saudi Arabia called for the immediate enforcement of all United Nations (UN) resolutions, including those from the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice.

Saudi Arabia highlighted the importance of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Islamic world. The Kingdom insisted that their historical and Islamic identity must remain intact. Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), made these remarks during an international symposium in Jeddah.

Dr. Al-Suhaibani emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Palestinians at all levels. He noted that this support aims to help Palestinians achieve independence in line with international law and UN resolutions. The Kingdom has been actively involved in backing the Palestinian cause through various international platforms.

The Kingdom's humanitarian efforts were also highlighted by Dr. Al-Suhaibani. He mentioned that The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has been providing aid to Palestinians in Gaza. Over recent years, Saudi Arabia has contributed approximately $5.258 billion in support to Palestine.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its unwavering support for a just solution that ensures Palestinians' legitimate rights. Dr. Al-Suhaibani stressed that the Palestinian cause remains a priority, and international efforts are essential for achieving lasting peace.

During his speech, Dr. Al-Suhaibani also pointed out Saudi Arabia's leadership role in forming an international response to the Gaza conflict. This includes political, legal, and humanitarian support, as well as initiating a genuine political process for comprehensive peace.

The symposium titled "Jerusalem and the Gaza War: Palestinian Identity and Existence Under Threat of Erasure" was held at the headquarters of CEIRPP and OIC in Jeddah. It focused on addressing threats to Palestinian identity and existence amid ongoing conflicts.

Saudi Arabia's extensive participation in supporting Palestine at the UN and other forums was underscored by Dr. Al-Suhaibani. He highlighted that this involvement spans various dimensions including political advocacy, legal measures, and humanitarian aid.

The Kingdom called on all relevant bodies to implement UN resolutions without delay. This includes ensuring Israel is held responsible for its actions against Palestinians.

Dr. Al-Suhaibani concluded by affirming that the rights of Palestinians will not diminish over time. He called for continued international efforts towards achieving a just peace that respects Palestinian rights.
