Saudi Arabia Enhances Global Humanitarian Aid Through KSrelief Initiatives

Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), plays a pivotal role in global humanitarian efforts. The Kingdom aims to assist those in need, regardless of their background, guided by the principles of human brotherhood. Saudi Arabia actively backs international and UN initiatives to mitigate the effects of disasters and crises.

The Kingdom has made substantial contributions to alleviate suffering and improve living conditions worldwide. It has also been instrumental in achieving sustainable development goals. Through KSrelief, Saudi Arabia provided $18 million to the United Nations to combat natural disasters and marine pollution from the FSO Safer.

Saudi Arabia's Role in Global Disaster Relief

In response to severe drought and famine in Somalia, Saudi Arabia launched targeted projects to address these challenges. The Kingdom rehabilitated and dug new artesian wells, ensuring clean water access for affected communities and livestock. Additionally, food security assistance was extended to vulnerable groups in Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan, and Sudan during humanitarian crises.

When a devastating earthquake hit Syria and Türkiye, Saudi Arabia promptly responded with humanitarian aid. The Kingdom operated relief air bridges, dispatched volunteer and medical teams, and supported both local and international relief efforts. This swift action demonstrated its commitment to providing aid during emergencies.

The Kingdom has also contributed significantly to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. It provided food, shelter, and medical aid through air and sea bridges as well as airdrops. Recently, Saudi Arabia established a camp for displaced Palestinians in Khan Yunis to support those affected by high sea waves and damaged tents.

On October 13th, Saudi Arabia joins the global community in observing the International Day for Disaster Reduction. This day promotes a culture of disaster prevention, preparedness, and solidarity with those impacted by humanitarian crises.
