The Digital Government Authority's study indicates that generative AI will greatly improve government services' performance and efficiency. By 2030, AI could add around $135 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP. This technology is expected to transform sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, energy, tourism, and housing.

Generative AI adoption offers several direct benefits. It can lower operational costs by automating repetitive tasks and enhance productivity through faster information access and better data management. Additionally, it aims to improve user experience by providing personalized services and fostering innovation through advanced data analysis.
The study involved interviews with 22 government leaders and technical experts. An overwhelming 94% of them believe that generative AI will speed up digital transformation. Furthermore, 90% anticipate that it will lead to new job opportunities.
Saudi Arabia is expected to generate $56 billion annually from integrating generative AI into the government sector. This positions the Kingdom as a leader in the Middle East for implementing such advanced AI solutions on a large scale.
The study also highlights the importance of developing digital skills and creating platforms for knowledge sharing. Crafting effective technical policies is essential for maximizing the benefits of generative AI.
