Saudi Arabia's Strategy Successfully Attracts Around 600 Regional Headquarters Of Multinational Corporations

Since the launch of the Saudi Program for Attracting Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in 2021, around 600 foreign companies have set up their regional bases in Saudi Arabia. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Investment and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, is part of Vision 2030. It aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a global business hub.

The RHQ program offers numerous incentives to international firms. A notable benefit is a 30-year tax relief package announced in December 2023. This package includes zero percent corporate income tax and withholding tax for qualifying regional headquarters. The program also simplifies the process of establishing operations across the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia Attracts 600 Regional Headquarters

Saudi Arabia's modern infrastructure is another key attraction for international businesses. The country boasts advanced facilities and technology, which are crucial for companies looking to expand their operations. Additionally, comprehensive support services are provided to assist companies during their transition.

The program also supports expatriate employees by facilitating access to international K-12 schools. Seven new schools have been established in the Kingdom to cater to this need. This initiative ensures that expatriate families have access to quality education options.

The strategic location of Saudi Arabia plays a significant role in attracting multinational corporations. Positioned at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, it serves as a global logistics hub. This geographical advantage is complemented by a young and skilled workforce committed to fostering a business-friendly environment.

Economic Growth and Vision 2030

The establishment of regional headquarters by foreign firms is expected to significantly boost Saudi Arabia’s economic growth. This initiative aligns with broader plans to double the Kingdom’s economy size and enhance quality of life by 2030. Riyadh aims to rank among the top 10 largest city economies globally.

Saudi Arabia's efforts reflect its commitment to achieving Vision 2030 goals and diversifying its economy. The focus on long-term economic stability is a key element in attracting international companies. These strategic efforts underscore the country's dedication to becoming a prominent global business destination.
