Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Addresses Key Global Issues At The 80th UN General Assembly
Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressed the United Nations General Assembly's 80th Session. He began by expressing Saudi Arabia's pride in being a founding member of the UN and its dedication to upholding international law. The Kingdom aims to strengthen global peace and security, reflecting its belief in the UN's vital role.
Saudi Arabia has contributed over $141 billion in aid to 74 countries, showcasing its commitment to humanitarian efforts. Prince Faisal reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, calling for a fair and lasting resolution. He stressed that ignoring international law has only perpetuated violence and suffering.

The minister highlighted Saudi Arabia's collaboration with Norway and the European Union to launch an International Coalition for implementing a two-state solution. Additionally, Saudi Arabia co-chaired a high-level conference with France on peacefully resolving the Palestinian conflict. These efforts aim to end occupation and establish peace.
Prince Faisal commended nations recognizing Palestine and urged further support for the Palestinian National Authority's reforms. He also emphasized regional security concerns, advocating for non-proliferation and nuclear arms control while ensuring safe navigation in key waterways like the Red Sea.
The foreign minister praised Syria's positive steps toward stability and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to Yemen's security. As Yemen's largest donor, Saudi Arabia continues supporting its economy and alleviating humanitarian challenges. Prince Faisal also stressed Sudan's unity through dialogue via the Jeddah platform.
He rejected actions undermining Sudan’s unity outside state frameworks. In Libya, he supported a Libyan-led solution promoting unity and counterterrorism. For Lebanon, he backed efforts extending state sovereignty under the Taif Agreement, limiting weapon possession to legitimate institutions.
Sustainable Development Goals
Prince Faisal concluded by highlighting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 achievements, including youth empowerment, women's participation in the workforce, and promoting tolerance. The Kingdom is committed to sustainable development through initiatives like the Saudi Green Initiative and establishing a Global Water Organization in Riyadh.
These efforts aim to balance growth with climate protection while mitigating climate change impacts. By fostering international cooperation, Saudi Arabia contributes significantly to global climate system protection.
