Al-Ghufaili also stressed Saudi Arabia's efforts under Vision 2030 to create a comprehensive space ecosystem. This initiative aims to enhance the Kingdom's global standing in this essential field. The SSA is committed to fostering international partnerships and leveraging space for economic progress.

The meeting continued an initiative started by Saudi Arabia during its G20 Presidency in 2020. At that time, the space economy was introduced to the group's agenda for the first time. This reflects Saudi Arabia's ongoing dedication to promoting international collaboration in space-related economic development.

During SELM, Al-Ghufaili presented at three sessions focusing on policy alignment with Sustainable Development Goals, public-private partnerships, and sustainable space operations. He showcased national initiatives demonstrating Saudi Arabia's commitment to sustainability and private sector empowerment.

The SSA delegation engaged in several bilateral meetings with international delegations and specialised companies on the sidelines of SELM. They also visited South Africa's Space Science Center to explore research projects and discuss future cooperation opportunities.

Commitment to Innovation and Talent Development

Al-Ghufaili highlighted initiatives aimed at nurturing national talent within the space sector. These efforts are part of broader goals to support innovation and stimulate investment within Saudi Arabia's growing space industry.

The SSA's active involvement in SELM underscores its dedication to advancing global cooperation in space exploration and development. By building strong international ties, Saudi Arabia aims to play a significant role in shaping the future of the global space economy.
