Saudi Arabia Highlights Water Sustainability At World Water Forum
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia, held from May 18 to 25. The Saudi pavilion showcased advanced projects in water desalination, reuse, and modern technologies for water conservation and efficient usage. Several entities responsible for the Kingdom's water sector participated, highlighting Saudi Arabia's innovations in water resources management.
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture presented a film detailing the history of water in the Kingdom. The film covered the national water strategy and law, supply and demand management, and efforts to reduce unauthorised drilling. It also addressed groundwater and surface water management and water-related risks.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company showcased projects related to saltwater desalination, sewage treatment, transportation, strategic storage, and dam-building in collaboration with the private sector. The company highlighted its local and international awards and its success in lowering the cost of saltwater desalination to become the lowest cost globally.
National Water Company
The National Water Company demonstrated its expertise in managing distribution networks for drinking water and environmental treatment. This included showcasing their advanced techniques and technologies that ensure efficient water distribution across the Kingdom.
Water Transmission and Technologies Company
The Water Transmission and Technologies Company highlighted its contributions to the Kingdom's water system. This includes managing, operating, and maintaining the world's longest water transportation network, showcasing their significant role in ensuring a reliable water supply.
Saudi Irrigation Organization
The Saudi Irrigation Organization outlined its five-year project portfolio, strategic initiatives, and digital transformation projects. These initiatives underscore their commitment to national environmental conservation objectives.
Saudi Water Authority
The Saudi Water Authority highlighted its pivotal role in water sector management and security. Their efforts to organise and enhance water supply chains were also showcased, demonstrating their critical role in ensuring sustainable water management.
Saudi Arabia's involvement in the 10th World Water Forum underscores its dedication to developing the water sector and fostering international collaboration to achieve water sustainability. It also confirms the Kingdom's progression towards the objectives of Vision 2030.
