Saudi Arabia Reiterates Commitment To Protecting Red Sea Coral Reefs
Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its strong commitment to protecting coral reefs and marine environments at the Red Sea Coral Reef Forum. The event, organised by the General Organization for Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea (SHAMS), took place in Jeddah from September 9 to 13, as per a SHAMS press release. This initiative aligns with sustainable development goals and aims to enhance the Kingdom's global standing in environmental conservation.
The forum coincided with the 38th meeting of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI). During his opening speech, SHAMS CEO Dr. Khaled Asfahani emphasised that the forum is part of ongoing efforts to preserve marine environments.
