Saudi Arabia Experiences Record Air Traffic During The 1446 AH Hajj Season
Saudi Arabia's airspace saw a significant rise in air traffic during the 1446 AH Hajj season. This achievement highlights the extensive efforts made to facilitate pilgrim movement. The Saudi leadership's support ensured a seamless and safe Hajj experience, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to serving pilgrims.
The Saudi Air Navigation Services company was crucial in managing air traffic operations. It utilised its human and technical resources effectively. This led to over 140,000 domestic and international air movements during the arrival and departure phases, marking an 8% increase from the previous year.

From Dhu Al-Qidah 1 to Dhu Al-Hijjah 8, 1446 AH, there were 74,902 air movements recorded. This represented a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. The growth underscores the efficiency of Saudi Arabia’s air navigation sector in handling increased traffic.
On Dhu Al-Hijjah 2, 1446 AH alone, a remarkable 2,338 air movements occurred. This was a 4% rise from the same day in the previous year. Such figures demonstrate the sector's capability to manage high volumes of air traffic efficiently.
During the departure phase from Dhu Al-Hijjah 23 to Muharram 15, 1447 AH, there were 66,072 air movements. This reflected a modest growth rate of 2%. These statistics highlight continuous improvements in managing departures smoothly.
The company extended its services to 213 airlines during this period. This indicates an expansion in international partnerships and diversity in destinations crossing Saudi airspace throughout the season.
