Saudi Arabia's Ministry Of Islamic Affairs Celebrates Quran Competition Winners In Nepal

In a significant cultural and religious event, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, through its religious attaché office at the Saudi embassy in New Delhi, recently celebrated the achievements of participants in a Quran competition in Nepal. This event, a first of its kind in Nepal, was meticulously organized under the auspices of the Saudi embassy in Kathmandu and in close collaboration with the Muslim Commission of Nepal. The competition, which took place over the course of January, saw participation from a wide array of individuals and Islamic institutions across Nepal.

With more than 650 contestants vying for top honors in four distinct categories, the competition culminated in the selection of 18 male and female winners. This remarkable participation underscores the event's success in fostering a deep connection with the Quran among participants. The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Saad Nasser Abu Haimed, the Saudi Ambassador to Nepal, and Sheikh Badr bin Nasser Al-Anazi, the religious attaché at the Saudi embassy in India. Additionally, numerous heads of Islamic associations and centers, members of diplomatic missions, Nepalese parliament members, and several eminent Islamic figures were in attendance.

The participants took this opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude towards the Saudi government for its pivotal role in organizing such an enriching event. They lauded the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its dedication to promoting a message of moderation and for its efforts to serve Islam and Muslims globally. Furthermore, they praised the initiative for encouraging values of tolerance and dialogue among diverse civilizations and religions.
