Saudi Arabia Sees 700,000 Adults Quit Smoking In 2025 With DZRT Nicotine Pouch

By the end of 2025, Badael estimates that about 700,000 adults in Saudi Arabia have stopped smoking cigarettes. The figure aligns with national health goals under Saudi Vision 2030 and points to a clear move away from combustible tobacco. Internal data also suggests that around 200,000 adults have fully given up nicotine.

The shift shows a deeper pattern of behavioural change, where many adults move first from cigarettes to smoke-free products and then leave nicotine. DZRT, a tobacco-free nicotine pouch developed and manufactured by Badael, has become a main option for adults who want a non-combustion alternative on their journey away from cigarettes.

Badael explains that DZRT is created for adult smokers who seek a smoke-free option instead of combustible tobacco. Since launch, the pouch has supported adults in cutting down, then stopping cigarette use. The approach is framed around informed adult choice, defined quality standards, and attention to long-term health-related outcomes rather than short-term product uptake.

According to Badael, the pace of change has increased over the course of 2025. In January 2025, the company announced that 400,000 adults had already quit smoking. Reaching 700,000 people by the end of the same year highlighted growing momentum driven by adult decision-making, access to alternatives, and a focus on harm reduction.

"This milestone reflects the purpose for which Badael was established," said Chief Executive Officer of Badael Tolga Sezer. "It is not about promotion or short-term adoption. It is about enabling real behavioral change. DZRT has supported many adult smokers in taking the first step away from combustion, and the fact that 200,000 people have gone on to quit nicotine entirely demonstrates the depth of impact, not just reach."

Building on these results, Badael restated its plan to help one million people in Saudi Arabia quit smoking by 2028. The company noted that present progress suggests this goal is realistic and might even be met earlier. This ambition sits within broader national efforts to improve quality of life and reduce the health burden linked to smoking.

The reported outcomes show that switching from cigarettes to DZRT is, for many adults, a transitional stage on the way to giving up nicotine. With 200,000 people already nicotine-free and a longer-term target of one million smokers supported by 2028, the figures outline how Badael’s activities intersect with Saudi Arabia’s wider public health objectives.
