Saudi Arabia's Commitment To Tolerance And Islamic Values Praised By Sri Lankan Ambassador

Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia, expressed his gratitude for the strong relationship between the two countries. He praised Saudi Arabia's significant role in supporting Islamic causes and promoting values of tolerance and moderation globally, with a particular emphasis on Sri Lanka. These efforts, he noted, truly reflect Islam's core message.

The ambassador met with Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. During their meeting, they discussed several mutual interests and explored ways to enhance cooperation in Islamic affairs between their nations.

Ambassador Ajwad highlighted the Kingdom's commendable role in promoting tolerance and moderation as a noble mission that represents Islam's lofty message. He extended his deepest appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their generous support to Sri Lanka across various fields.

The ambassador specifically acknowledged the Kingdom's contributions to Islamic work and support of the Holy Qur’an. He also praised the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its efforts in spreading Islam's tolerant message worldwide through awareness programs and training courses for imams and preachers.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs was commended for organizing Qur’an competitions that serve both Islam and Muslims. The ambassador appreciated these initiatives as they promote moderation and balance globally. "We take pride in the Kingdom’s remarkable role in promoting the values of tolerance and moderation, a noble mission that truly represents the lofty message of Islam," he stated.

The meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka in furthering Islamic causes. Both officials agreed on enhancing cooperation to strengthen their bilateral ties further.
