Saudi Arabia Makes Significant Strides Towards Vision 2030, Says Al-Jubeir
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is actively advancing its comprehensive strategy, Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on economic growth and social development. This strategy was highlighted by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, during a panel session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting in Riyadh. The session, titled "The Economic Perspectives for the Middle East and North Africa," shed light on the Kingdom's efforts to diversify its economy and enhance investment opportunities across various sectors.
Al-Jubeir elaborated on the strategy's broad scope, which includes enhancing the entertainment, education, healthcare, and environmental sectors, among other economic activities. He stressed the importance of adopting best practices to overcome challenges and boost investment from both local and international investors. The minister underscored the significant strides made towards achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, including reducing unemployment rates and increasing women's participation in the workforce from 14% to 37% in just four years.

Furthermore, Al-Jubeir highlighted the surge in new companies and startups initiated by Saudi youth, reflecting a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit within the Kingdom. He expressed the Kingdom's commitment to fostering Saudi companies' involvement in both local and global economic activities. Focusing on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, he noted the success in achieving economic integration, trade freedom, and the movement of goods and individuals, which have positively impacted commercial and investment levels.
The minister also addressed the broader Middle East and North Africa region's potential for success and prosperity. However, he acknowledged that regional tensions pose challenges to realizing this potential. One of Saudi Arabia's primary goals is to mitigate these tensions to pave the way for economic development and prosperity throughout the region.
In conclusion, Saudi Arabia's proactive approach under Saudi Vision 2030 aims not only to transform its own economy but also to contribute positively to the broader regional economy. The Kingdom's efforts to reduce unemployment, increase women's workforce participation, and encourage youth entrepreneurship are indicative of its commitment to creating a sustainable and prosperous future for all.
