The Kingdom’s national digital strategy aligns with ITU’s "Connect 2030" vision. Eng. AlOhali discussed ongoing cooperation with ITU to update a study titled "Connecting Humanity Through Sustainable, Affordable, and Innovative Solutions." This study aims to identify connectivity gaps and develop strategies for universal internet access.

AlOhali emphasized Saudi Arabia's success with the Open Access Initiative, which facilitated infrastructure sharing among telecom providers. This initiative extended fiber-optic connections to over 3.9 million homes, exceeding previous targets. The Kingdom continues investing in non-terrestrial network technologies like Low Earth Orbit satellites and High Altitude Platform Systems.

Regionally, Saudi Arabia has shown leadership by launching the "Digital Sustainability Tool" in partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). Additionally, it leads the Circular Digital Economy track under ITU’s Green Digital Action initiative. These efforts highlight Saudi Arabia's role in promoting sustainable digital practices.

Eng. AlOhali concluded by stressing that bridging the digital divide is a critical global challenge. He called for increased collaboration and joint efforts to ensure inclusive digital development worldwide.
