Saudi Arabia Participates In 41st Session Of Arab Council Of Housing And Urban Planning Ministers In Algeria
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is actively participating in the 41st session of the Arab Council of Housing and Urban Planning Ministers. This event, taking place in Algeria from December 17 to 19, is under the patronage of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. It coincides with the 8th Arab Housing Conference, which focuses on "Sustainable Urbanism and Construction: Challenges and Promising Hopes."
Leading the Saudi delegation is Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Residential Supply Stimulus and Real Estate Development. The gathering serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and enhancing cooperation among Arab nations in housing and urban development.

The conference agenda includes discussions on the Arab Strategic Executive Plan for Housing and Urban Development. Key topics involve emerging urban trends and the importance of global sustainable development. The session aims to boost collaboration in housing and construction to meet citizens' needs and improve infrastructure across Arab countries.
Strategies for advancing sustainable urbanization are being explored, such as developing resilient cities, promoting green buildings, and sharing best practices aligned with sustainable development goals. Establishing benchmarks for decent housing to serve various segments of Arab societies is also emphasized.
Saudi Arabia's slogan for Arab Housing Day 2025, "Rebuilding Affected Communities — Building a Better Future," was chosen during this session. This slogan reflects the Kingdom's dedication to rebuilding affected communities while fostering their recovery and growth.
The Kingdom also achieved third place in the 2024 Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development Award for its "Bouvardia City" project in Jeddah. This recognition is shared with the Emirati Residential Neighborhood Initiative in the UAE.
Aligning with Global Goals
The session aligns with the United Nations Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development for 2030. It supports sustainable development goals endorsed by the Arab League, aiming to create inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities as agreed upon at the council’s 13th session.
This event provides an opportunity to discuss strategies that enhance collaboration among Arab nations in housing development. By focusing on sustainable urbanization, it seeks to address challenges while offering promising solutions for future growth.
