Saudi Arabia Highlights Importance Of Palestinian Cause And Arab Media Collaboration At Meeting

Salman Al-Dossary, the Minister of Media, highlighted the crucial role of Arab media in supporting the Palestinian cause. He urged media outlets across the Arab world to unite in emphasizing resolutions from the recent Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh. These resolutions reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian issue and supported Palestinians in achieving their legitimate rights through a just solution based on international legitimacy.

During a meeting in Abu Dhabi, Al-Dossary chaired the 20th regular session of the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers Council. This gathering included heads of Arab delegations and media-related institutions. "We meet today to discuss 12 items as part of Arab efforts to enhance joint Arab media work, foremost among them the Palestinian cause," he stated, stressing the importance of a unified approach to media engagement with environmental issues.

Al-Dossary emphasized Saudi Arabia's role in hosting significant environmental events like COP16 and the One Water Summit. He stressed that Arab media should highlight these events' outcomes. The minister also pointed out that leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies could enhance content and audience analysis within Arab media.

The minister called for using insights from Riyadh's Global AI Summit to boost Arab media performance. Discussions during these meetings also covered enhancing media content and addressing terrorism through media channels. The role of media in combating terrorism was a key topic, alongside efforts by the Arab League to implement the Arab Media Action Plan abroad.

The discussions also touched on the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030. This initiative aims to align media efforts with sustainable development goals across the region. The minister underscored how AI could play a pivotal role in this alignment by improving content delivery and understanding audience preferences.

Al-Dossary reiterated that showcasing environmental initiatives is vital for raising awareness about sustainability issues. He believes that a unified approach can significantly impact public perception and engagement with these critical topics.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on collaboration among Arab nations to strengthen their collective voice on global platforms. By doing so, they aim to ensure that key issues like Palestine and sustainable development receive due attention worldwide.
