Saudi's Musaned Platform Marks Progress In Domestic Labor Recruitment

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is enhancing the domestic labor recruitment sector through the Musaned platform, which was established in 2016. This platform aims to streamline and document the recruitment process while safeguarding the rights of both employers and domestic workers. It has emerged as a key national initiative in Saudi Arabia.

In the first half of 2024, Musaned achieved several notable milestones. The platform facilitated 412,399 domestic labor recruitment contracts and expanded its list of recruitment countries to 33, including new additions like Gambia, Burundi, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania. Additionally, it introduced the "transfer labor services" feature, benefiting 61,358 employers.

Musaned's Leap in Labor Recruitment

A unified electronic contract was unveiled to protect the rights of domestic workers and employers. Over 907 approved recruitment offices were registered throughout the Kingdom, along with 8,286 active external offices. The average duration for the arrival of domestic workers was reduced by an impressive 11%, much to the relief of all parties involved.

The Musaned platform also saw significant improvements in its evaluation system for recruitment offices. The ceiling of recruitment prices for countries with high recruitment rates was lowered. Furthermore, a health insurance service for new domestic workers was launched, exempting humanitarian cases from fees.

In addition to these achievements, new services and improvements were introduced to Musaned in early 2024. These included new channels for transferring domestic worker salaries and the launch of "Domestic Worker Contract Insurance" for new workers. A unified channel for submitting complaints was also created.

The platform has uploaded 583,691 CVs for domestic workers and boasts a beneficiary satisfaction rate of 92%. These efforts aim to provide better services and support to all parties involved in the contractual relationship.

The Ministry's initiatives have significantly impacted the sector by simplifying processes and ensuring fair treatment. By expanding available countries for recruitment and introducing new features like transfer labor services and electronic contracts, Musaned continues to lead in improving domestic labor recruitment in Saudi Arabia.

Efforts to enhance Musaned are ongoing as part of a broader strategy to improve service quality and efficiency within the sector. These measures reflect a commitment to protecting rights and providing comprehensive support to employers and domestic workers alike.

The Ministry's dedication is evident through continuous updates and enhancements aimed at making the recruitment process more efficient and transparent. This approach not only benefits employers but also ensures that domestic workers receive fair treatment and protection under Saudi law.

Overall, these initiatives underscore a commitment to fostering a more efficient and equitable domestic labor market in Saudi Arabia.
