Saudi Arabia And Mexico Sign Memorandum Of Understanding To Enhance Accounting And Auditing Cooperation

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Mexican States have taken a significant step to boost collaboration in accounting and auditing. Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA), and David Rogelio Colmenares-Páramo, Auditor-General of Mexico's Superior Auditor of the Federation, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday in Mexico City.

This MoU aims to foster expertise exchange and professional capacity building between the two nations. The agreement includes developing manuals for financial, compliance, and performance auditing. Joint workshops and specialized training programs will facilitate this knowledge sharing. Both countries are members of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which provides a framework for these activities.

Dr. Alangari emphasized the GCA's dedication to strengthening bilateral ties with peer institutions globally. He stated that such agreements highlight GCA's esteemed professional status both regionally and internationally. The GCA is committed to sharing its expertise with other supreme audit institutions worldwide.

Colmenares-Páramo underscored the MoU's role in improving joint efforts between Mexico's Superior Auditor and Saudi Arabia's GCA. He noted that this collaboration would enhance performance efficiency and audit quality at both institutions. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing auditing standards through mutual cooperation.

After signing the MoU, representatives from both sides engaged in a bilateral meeting. They discussed potential areas for cooperation and explored coordination strategies on related topics. Specialists from each institution participated in these discussions, aiming to solidify their collaborative efforts.

The presence of Saudi Ambassador Fahd bin Ali Al-Manawer at the signing ceremony highlighted the importance of this agreement. It signifies a commitment to fostering strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Mexico through professional collaboration in auditing fields.
