The Kingdom's digital economy contributes 15% to its gross domestic product, valued at over SAR495 billion. This marks a significant shift in the national economic landscape. The success highlights Saudi Arabia's progress in diversifying income through a smart economy approach.

In 2024, the telecommunications and information technology market saw record growth exceeding SAR180 billion. This was driven by increased private sector investment and heightened innovation. These developments further cemented Saudi Arabia's status as the largest technology market in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia has invested over SAR55 billion in AI technologies and data centres. This positions the Kingdom as a regional hub for future industries. By empowering digital human capabilities, Saudi Arabia has enhanced its regional prominence as a major hub for digital talent.
The Kingdom has created more than 381,000 quality jobs in the technology sector. This boost in employment underscores its commitment to developing human capital within the digital realm.
Advancements in Digital Governance
Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in digital governance according to United Nations indicators. It ranks sixth globally on the E-Government Development Index and fourth on the Digital Services Index. Among G20 countries, it holds second place and is first regionally.
The Kingdom also excels in sub-indicators, ranking first globally in digital skills and open digital government. Additionally, it stands seventh worldwide on the E-Participation Index, showcasing its leadership in digital governance initiatives.
