This commitment was underscored by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's 2023 announcement of the Global Water Organization, headquartered in Riyadh, which highlights Saudi Arabia's leadership in addressing water challenges.

The establishment of the Global Water Organization, marked by a charter signing with international participation, underscores its role in uniting global efforts for a sustainable water future. Membership provides strategic opportunities to influence global policies, secure funding for projects, and exchange best practices. This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's dedication to launching major initiatives and hosting significant global events.

Saudi Arabia's recent achievements across the water supply chain include developing technical solutions to tackle water challenges and promoting environmental sustainability. The Kingdom has provided over $6 billion for water and sanitation projects across four continents, placing water issues at the forefront of the international agenda. These efforts demonstrate Saudi Arabia's leading role in advancing global water initiatives.

The Kingdom's ambition extends to hosting key international events such as the One Water Summit. Co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, French President Emmanuel Macron, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and World Bank President Ajay Banga, this summit showcases Saudi Arabia's commitment to sharing insights and learning from global experiences.

Saudi Arabia will host the 2026 World Congress on Desalination and Water Re-Use Solutions, highlighting its status as the largest producer of desalinated water globally. Additionally, the Kingdom will host the 2027 World Water Forum, a premier platform for discussing water management issues and fostering international cooperation.

Under Saudi Vision 2030, a comprehensive national strategy has been adopted to improve water management. This strategy addresses challenges such as limited non-renewable groundwater resources and high demand across various sectors. By leveraging advanced technologies, Saudi Arabia aims to ensure water security and conserve groundwater for future generations.
