ICAO President Lauds Saudi Arabia For Shaping The Future Of Global Aviation
UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano praised Saudi Arabia's significant role in shaping the future of global aviation. Speaking at the third annual Future Aviation Forum (FAF 2024) in Riyadh, he highlighted the extensive support provided by the Saudi leadership to the aviation sector.
FAF 2024, themed "Elevating Global Connectivity," is organized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) from May 20 to 22. In his speech, Sciacchitano emphasized that Saudi Vision 2030 has clearly prioritised supporting the aviation industry. He noted that the global civil-aviation system will continue to advance its efforts over the coming decades.

Sciacchitano stated that the Kingdom’s hosting of FAF 2024 embodies its clear message of elevating global communication. He highlighted the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which shape the future of the country, and the crucial role that the transportation sector plays in this regard.
Environmental Sustainability
Sciacchitano affirmed responding to all priorities set by international organisations to achieve fuel sustainability and reach net-zero emissions. He underlined ICAO’s support for international cooperation to facilitate access to investment capabilities, focusing on developing countries and their needs.
Saudi Green Initiative
Sciacchitano commended Saudi Arabia’s exceptional efforts in reducing carbon emissions. He underscored the role of the Saudi Green Initiative and its ambitious programs and projects in achieving this goal.
The Future Aviation Forum continues to be a pivotal event, reflecting Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing global aviation and environmental sustainability.
