Saudi Arabia Unanimously Wins Presidency Of ACAO Executive Council

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been unanimously elected to lead the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO). This decision was made during the 28th Ordinary General Assembly meeting in Rabat, Morocco. Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, highlighted that this achievement underscores Saudi Arabia's prominent position in both international and regional organizations.

Al-Jasser expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He credited their support for the civil aviation sector as a key factor in this success. He also stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab efforts in air transport to achieve top safety standards.

Saudi Arabia, a founding member of ACAO, has always backed the organization's objectives and actively participated in its executive council and technical committees. The Kingdom hosts the regional headquarters for safety oversight and manages the cooperative aviation security program for Middle Eastern countries. Additionally, it supports the International Civil Aviation Organization's "No Country Left Behind" initiative with a contribution of $1 million.

Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser affirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to developing and supporting ACAO while enhancing its international role. He emphasized cooperation with Arab and global partners to advance the aviation industry further. "This victory reflects the Kingdom's high status in international and regional organizations and its significant role in civil aviation," he stated.

Saudi Arabia aims to boost collaboration among Arab nations in civil aviation development. Established in 1996 and affiliated with the Arab League, ACAO seeks to foster cooperation among member states. The Kingdom's ongoing commitment includes participating in various technical committees and supporting initiatives that promote aviation safety and security across the region.

Al-Jasser reiterated that Saudi Arabia would continue its efforts to enhance ACAO's role internationally. The Kingdom remains committed to working closely with other Arab countries to improve air transport safety standards. This collaborative approach is seen as essential for achieving shared goals within the aviation sector.
