Saudi Arabia And Kuwait Sign MoU To Enhance Media Cooperation
In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, welcomed the Saudi Minister of Media, Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, along with his delegation at the Seif Palace. This meeting underscored the robust strategic, fraternal, and historical connections between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the special consideration and status these ties hold within the leadership circles of both nations.
During his visit, Al-Dossary also engaged in discussions with Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al-Mutairi, the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture. Their dialogue revolved around various topics of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing media cooperation. The discussions aimed at developing media personnel and identifying opportunities for experience sharing between the two countries.

Furthermore, Al-Dossary's itinerary included interactions with prominent Kuwaiti media professionals across different sectors, culminating in an open meeting. A pivotal moment of this visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). This MoU, signed in the presence of both ministers by SPA President Dr. Fahd bin Hassan Al-Aqran and KUNA Director General Dr. Fatma Al-Salem, is set to bolster professional news cooperation and facilitate information exchange between the two countries.
The agreement aims to foster news exchange development, thereby enhancing mutual understanding between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. This initiative is part of SPA's broader strategy to strengthen news work and broaden its partnerships across Gulf, Arab, and international news agencies. To date, SPA has entered into over 30 agreements in this domain.
The meeting was also attended by the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid, alongside several officials from both countries. This gathering not only highlighted the deep-rooted relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia but also marked a step forward in media collaboration efforts between the two nations.
The signing of the MoU by SPA and KUNA reflects a shared commitment to enhancing professional news cooperation and promoting information exchange. Such initiatives are crucial for fostering greater understanding and collaboration between Gulf countries, contributing to a more informed and connected region.
