Key Features

The stadium will include a royal box with 150 seats, 120 hospitality suites, 300 VIP seats, and 2,200 seats for dignitaries. Sustainable cooling systems will ensure comfort for both audience members and players.

Located in northern Riyadh on King Salman Road, near King Abdulaziz Park, the stadium is conveniently close to key locations like King Khalid International Airport. It is well-connected to Riyadh's train station and major road networks, making it easily accessible from all parts of the city.

The master plan includes several surrounding sports facilities covering an area exceeding 360,000 square meters. These features include two auxiliary training fields, fan zones, an indoor sports hall, an Olympic swimming pool, and an athletics track.

Outdoor courts for volleyball, basketball, and padel will also be available. All these facilities will be connected by a 9-kilometer sports trail around King Abdulaziz Park.

The site will feature commercial centers and recreational areas accessible to all age groups throughout the day. This makes it an attractive destination for visitors from both inside and outside the Kingdom.

An array of screens will surround the upper stadium interior to enhance the viewing experience. Visitors can also enjoy internal gardens and a walking track on the stadium's roof with a spectacular view of King Abdulaziz Park.

Design Inspiration

The final design was inspired by mountainous terrain concepts and integrates seamlessly with King Abdulaziz Park through a valley intersecting green spaces. The architectural design includes green walls and roofs spanning over 96,500 square meters.

This iconic sports architectural landmark will host major local and international entertainment events. It aims to enhance life quality in Riyadh while boosting its global ranking as one of the world's most livable cities.

The designs were selected from submissions by six international companies to meet FIFA's requirements while upholding sustainability and architectural excellence standards. The stadium's design reflects local architecture while meeting environmental sustainability and green building standards.

King Salman Stadium's construction is set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2029. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a significant venue for various sports activities in Riyadh.
