Saudi Arabia And Jordan Coordinate Airdrop Of Food Aid To Gaza Strip
The Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, announced that Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Jordanian Hashemite Armed Forces, conducted an airdrop of food aid to Gaza. This operation aimed to circumvent the Israeli occupation forces' closure of border crossings, which had blocked humanitarian aid from reaching the affected people in Gaza.
Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts in Gaza under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia provided Jordan with parachutes and dedicated networks for airdrops weighing 30 tonnes to ensure the delivery of aid. The food supplies dropped are ready for immediate consumption without needing heating.

Dr. Al Rabeeah revealed that Saudi Arabia launched a donation campaign directed by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to support Palestinians in Gaza. To date, this campaign has raised over $184 million. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has operated an air bridge consisting of 54 planes and a sea bridge comprising eight ships, which are still operational.
He expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for their exceptional humanitarian assistance, which supports international efforts and alleviates the suffering of Palestinians. "The Kingdom's dedication to aiding those in need is unwavering," he stated.
This airdrop bypasses closed land and sea crossings that have hindered aid delivery. Dr. Al Rabeeah called for opening border crossings to facilitate substantial humanitarian assistance to those afflicted in Gaza. He stressed that opening these crossings is crucial for delivering more comprehensive aid.
The KSrelief Supervisor General reiterated that Saudi Arabia's efforts are part of a broader initiative to support international humanitarian causes. The Kingdom's actions reflect its commitment to helping those in dire need, particularly in conflict zones like Gaza.
Dr. Al Rabeeah concluded by acknowledging the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continuous support in providing high-quality humanitarian aid globally.
