Saudi Arabia's International Achievements At ISEF Rise To 25 With New Awards

Saudi students Misk Al-Mutairi and Raghad Al-Sheikh have added to Saudi Arabia's accolades by winning two international awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025). Their projects earned them special prizes from the American Chemical Society, increasing the Kingdom's total awards in this competition from 23 to 25.

The ISEF event took place in Columbus, Ohio, in May, attracting over 1,700 participants from 70 countries. This recognition underscores Saudi Arabia's ongoing success in scientific achievements at this year's fair. The Kingdom's students secured a total of 25 international awards, comprising 14 grand awards and 11 special awards.

Saudi Arabia Secures 25 Awards at ISEF

The American Chemical Society is renowned globally for its contributions to chemistry. It annually presents special awards at ISEF to support exceptional scientific projects and inspire students to innovate in chemistry and related fields. The society's recognition of Al-Mutairi and Al-Sheikh highlights their project's excellence.

Since 2007, Saudi Arabia has been represented at ISEF by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) alongside the Ministry of Education. Over the years, they have collectively garnered 185 international awards, including 124 grand awards and 61 special ones.

The achievements reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to nurturing talent through discovery and development programs. These efforts have significantly bolstered the Kingdom's global competitiveness in science, engineering, and innovation. Such initiatives are crucial for fostering a culture of creativity and excellence among young Saudis.

The addition of these recent awards further cements Saudi Arabia's position as a leader in scientific innovation on the international stage. By investing in education and talent development, the Kingdom continues to make strides in various scientific disciplines.
