Saudi Arabia Marks International Human Solidarity Day With Commitment To Global Humanitarian Aid

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), marks International Human Solidarity Day on December 20. This occasion highlights its dedication to global humanitarian values. The Kingdom emphasises its commitment to human and social development, promoting humanitarian efforts based on the belief in the importance of human solidarity and social cooperation for all.

KSrelief has been instrumental in international aid, executing 3,135 projects worth over $7.144 billion in 106 countries. These initiatives cover areas like disaster relief, medical assistance, and community development, showcasing Saudi Arabia's commitment to reducing human suffering and advancing social justice.

Saudi Arabia Celebrates Human Solidarity Day

Recent humanitarian actions by KSrelief include substantial support for those impacted by earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye. Additionally, they have provided aid to people affected by ongoing crises in Ukraine and Sudan, as well as in Gaza and Lebanon. These efforts underline KSrelief's focus on addressing urgent global needs.

KSrelief has also prioritised sustainable solutions by concentrating on skills development and community empowerment. This approach helps beneficiaries achieve self-sufficiency, ensuring long-term benefits beyond immediate relief efforts.

In recognition of its outstanding humanitarian work, KSrelief received the Global Humanitarian Achievement Award from the National Council on US-Arab Relations. This accolade acknowledges the centre's significant contributions to global humanitarian efforts.

The leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz is pivotal in driving this commitment. Their support exemplifies Saudi Arabia's dedication to global solidarity and cooperation.

Key Projects and Initiatives

Among KSrelief's various programs are the MASAM Project for landmine clearance in Yemen, providing prosthetic limbs, and rehabilitating child soldiers. These initiatives demonstrate a comprehensive approach to addressing diverse humanitarian challenges worldwide.
