Saudi Arabia And Indonesia Finalise USD 27 Billion Agreements On Clean Energy And Defence Cooperation

Saudi Arabia and Indonesia have entered into agreements valued at US$27 billion, focusing on clean energy, petrochemicals, and aviation fuel services. This collaboration was formalised during Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Saudi Arabia. The two nations aim to enhance their partnership in these sectors, reflecting a significant step in their bilateral relations.

In recent years, trade between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia has reached approximately $31.5 billion. This makes Saudi Arabia the leading trading partner for Indonesia in the region. Both countries are optimistic about finalising a Free Trade Agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Indonesia soon, following negotiations held in September 2024 and February 2025.

The energy sector is a key focus of the agreements. Both nations plan to boost cooperation in crude oil supply, petrochemicals, and sustainable energy supply chains.
