Saudi Arabia Commits Over $1.2 Billion In Humanitarian Aid To Sudan And Its Neighbours

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), detailed the Kingdom's comprehensive plan during his speech at the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and neighbouring countries. This conference, organized by France and the European Union in Paris, saw participation from countries supporting peace efforts in Sudan, major donors, and key UN and international organizations.

Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Sudan as a driving force behind the Kingdom's swift action to launch relief operations. These operations include 13 aircraft and four sea bridges, aimed at delivering vital humanitarian aid. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has committed to implementing 43 humanitarian projects in Sudan and its neighbouring countries, with a total investment exceeding $59 million. This initiative is in partnership with various UN bodies, international, and local organizations. Additionally, twenty voluntary medical teams have been dispatched to Sudan to provide critical healthcare services.

Dr. Al Rabeeah announced that Saudi Arabia had pledged $100 million in aid to Sudan, with an additional contribution of over $20 million earmarked for future projects.
