Saudi Arabia Gains Global Health Recognition As Arab Physician Of The Year 2025
Saudi professionals and institutions in the health sector gain strong Arab and global recognition in 2025, with awards for research, innovation and patient services confirming progress in the Kingdom’s health system and reflecting the wider national transformation under Vision 2030.
In 2025, Saudi Arabia’s health sector receives major international honours. At the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, Saudi health projects secure one main award and 19 international medals, highlighting advanced work in health innovation and digital and smart medical solutions.

Saudi health facilities also achieve success in service quality, gaining nine honours at the International Customer Experience Awards. These awards indicate that the health transformation programme is improving patient journeys, redesigning services around beneficiaries, and supporting higher standards in both public and private facilities.
Among individual achievements, Professor of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at King Saud University Dr. Ahmed bin Salem BaHammam is named Arab Physician of the Year 2025 in the scientific research and innovation category by the Council of Arab Health Ministers, highlighting Saudi scientific talent.
These recognitions coincide with strong performance by Saudi universities and research centres. Institutions such as King Saud University expand research output, publish in international journals, and improve global rankings, which strengthens the Kingdom’s role as a regional and international hub for medical and scientific research.
The Kingdom also contributes to wider Arab healthcare systems. Authorities work with the Council of Arab Health Ministers to share experience in health transformation, support public health initiatives, combat epidemics, and develop governance programmes adopted by several Arab countries, reinforcing regional cooperation in health policy.
