Saudi Arabia Pioneers New Directions In Global Health Tourism

The Health Tourism Club, in collaboration with the Health Tourism Association and the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), inaugurated the Health Tourism Future Forum today. This significant event aims to set new priorities and visions for health tourism on both regional and international scales. The forum, marking the eighth anniversary of Saudi Vision 2030, is a testament to the Kingdom's leadership role as the vice president of the GHTC. It establishes an annual global dialogue for developing strategies within the Kingdom's health tourism sector, showcasing its strengths and identifying investment opportunities in both tourism and healthcare.

According to Ahmed Al-Oraij, President of the Health Tourism Association, this forum is a pioneering initiative from a country well-equipped to lead in healthcare. He emphasized that the Association aims to be a pivotal reference in the industry, enhancing the Kingdom's position as a prime destination for health tourism through showcasing its capabilities and offering qualification and training programs.

Saudi's Health Tourism Vision

Dr. Khalid Al-Shaibani, CEO of the Health Sector Transformation Program, highlighted the program's focus on enhancing healthcare access, service quality, preventive health measures, and traffic safety. He noted the transformation's success in adopting a modern healthcare model that prioritizes public health, research, innovation, and digital health services.

The forum serves as a crucial platform for medical tourism experts to exchange knowledge and foster public-private partnerships. It aims to position the Kingdom as a top choice for health-related travel by highlighting technological advancements and innovations in healthcare. Additionally, it seeks to address industry challenges, propose sustainable growth solutions, and emphasize the importance of prioritizing health and well-being.

Spanning three days, the event features presentations, workshops, discussions, bilateral business meetings, seminars, and interactive sessions. These activities cover various medical tourism aspects such as innovation, investment, marketing, and legislation, underlining the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its medical tourism sector and contributing to global healthcare improvement.
