Saudi Arabia Engages In G20 Anti-Corruption Ministerial To Combat Global Corruption Challenges
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took part in the fourth G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group Ministerial in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The delegation was led by Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha). Al-Kahmous commended South Africa for its achievements under its G20 presidency, especially its emphasis on solidarity, equality, and sustainability.
Al-Kahmous acknowledged Brazil's ongoing support for South Africa's leadership within the G20. He highlighted that since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom has adopted a strategic approach to combat cross-border crimes, with a focus on corruption. This is due to its threat to sustainable development and good governance.

The Nazaha president stressed that Saudi Arabia has developed a comprehensive institutional framework to enhance integrity and transparency. This framework also aims to boost international cooperation in fighting corruption. He pointed out challenges like the absence of precise tools to measure anti-corruption efforts' impact.
Al-Kahmous emphasized the need for practical recommendations to improve these mechanisms. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia has worked with several international organizations to create tools for assessing anti-corruption measures' effectiveness and enhancing integrity standards.
During the ministerial meeting, Al-Kahmous engaged in discussions with delegation heads from countries such as the United States, China, Singapore, and Italy. Representatives from INTERPOL and OECD were also present. These talks focused on strengthening cooperation against cross-border crimes related to corruption.
The discussions also covered topics of mutual interest among these nations and organizations. Al-Kahmous underscored the importance of collaboration in tackling corruption effectively on an international scale.
Saudi Arabia's participation in this event reflects its commitment to global anti-corruption efforts. The Kingdom continues to play a significant role in promoting transparency and integrity worldwide through strategic partnerships and initiatives.
