Saudi Arabia And France Strengthen Cultural Ties With New Executive Programs In Heritage And Arts
During French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Diriyah's historic At-Turaif District, Saudi Culture Minister Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan met with French Culture Minister Rachida Dati. This meeting led to the signing of executive programs with prominent French cultural institutions, aiming to enhance cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France.
The agreements focus on partnerships in heritage, museums, libraries, film, and other cultural sectors. These initiatives aim to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and innovation through shared expertise and resources. Key areas include heritage preservation, archaeological research, creative industries, manuscripts, and cinema.

Activities under these programs involve training artisans, conducting archaeological surveys, organizing educational workshops, facilitating exhibitions, showcasing manuscripts, and nurturing talent in film-related fields. The emphasis is on knowledge sharing and capacity building while preserving and advancing cultural heritage.
The executive programs were signed with several notable institutions. These include the National Monuments Center and the Operator of Heritage and Cultural Real Estate Projects. Other partners are the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle.
Additional collaborations involve the National Library of France, Grand Palais, National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image, National Institute of Cultural Heritage of France, and The National School of Photography of Arles. These agreements mark a significant milestone in Saudi-French cultural relations.
The partnerships highlight a shared commitment to advancing global cultural heritage while fostering innovation in the arts. Both nations continue to build on their longstanding relationship by contributing to global cultural dialogue and enriching their respective cultural landscapes.
