The Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) is organising a roundtable with the European Union (EU) from December 9 to 10. This event, led by Abdulaziz Alsakran, GAFT's Deputy Governor for International Relations, and Dr. Thomas Jorgensen, head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Department at the EU Delegation to Saudi Arabia, aims to enhance trade relations between Saudi Arabia and the EU.
Representatives from various Saudi public and private sectors will join high-ranking trade officials from the EU delegation in Riyadh. The meeting seeks to strengthen the partnership with one of Saudi Arabia's key trading partners by increasing trade volume and addressing common challenges. Discussions will focus on improving cooperation in trade and investment.

The roundtable will explore ways to tackle shared challenges and enhance global economic partnerships. Participants include trade representatives from EU member states, experts from the Saudi public sector, and representatives involved in major Saudi projects. The European Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh will also be present.

The meeting aims to improve communication between both sides, ultimately fostering increased collaboration. Expected outcomes include better exchange of knowledge regarding trade regulations, reduced trade barriers, and exploring ways to increase trade between stakeholders from both regions.
Efforts are directed towards building stronger relationships among stakeholders by sharing insights on new reforms and identifying potential collaborations. These discussions are expected to lead to enhanced cooperation in various sectors.
