Saudi Arabia Elected As Representative Of Arab Group At ICAO Council During Extraordinary Session
Saudi Arabia has been chosen to represent the Arab Group on the council of the UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This decision was made during the 30th extraordinary session of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco. The election followed nominations from countries for ICAO council membership through the Arab Group.
The upcoming ICAO assembly, where council elections will take place, is set for September 23 to October at the organization's headquarters in Montréal, Canada. Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) board, led Saudi Arabia's delegation at the ACAO session.

Al-Jasser praised Saudi Arabia's efforts in achieving this representation. He expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its unwavering support for the civil aviation sector. He emphasized that this election highlights Saudi Arabia's significant role both locally and regionally in civil aviation and its active participation in international organizations.

"The Kingdom will spare no effort to support Arab cooperation, based on the directives of the government," Al-Jasser stated at the conclusion of his speech.
