Saudi Arabia Secures Chairmanship Of ARABOSAI For The 2025–2028 Term

The General Assembly of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) has chosen Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Court of Audit (GCA), to lead ARABOSAI from 2025 to 2028. This decision was made unanimously. Saudi Arabia will also host ARABOSAI's 15th General Assembly in late 2025.

Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of GCA, noted that this marks the first time a member has secured consecutive chairmanships since ARABOSAI's inception in 1976. "This milestone reflects the unwavering support of the Saudi wise leadership and underscores the country’s esteemed standing on regional and international platforms," stated Dr. Alangari.

Beyond ARABOSAI, GCA plays a significant role in international audit organizations. It currently serves as the Second Vice Chair of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and leads several important committees within INTOSAI. Furthermore, GCA is set to chair the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in 2027.

The nomination highlights Saudi Arabia's prominent position in fostering cooperation among ARABOSAI members. The Kingdom's leadership aims to strengthen joint efforts and collaboration within the organization. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing auditing practices across member states.

Established to boost cooperation among supreme audit institutions in Arab countries, ARABOSAI acts as a link between these institutions and global entities like INTOSAI. The organization focuses on promoting auditing awareness, efficiency, effectiveness, and optimal resource use throughout the Arab region.

This development reaffirms Saudi Arabia's pioneering role in promoting collaboration among ARABOSAI members. The Kingdom's leadership is seen as instrumental in advancing joint efforts within the organization, reflecting its esteemed status on both regional and international stages.
