Saudi Arabia And Egypt Call For Immediate Ceasefire In Gaza And Lebanon Amid Humanitarian Crisis
Egypt and Saudi Arabia have jointly urged for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon. They highlighted the urgent need to address the worsening humanitarian crisis and stop actions that escalate tensions in these regions. This call came after a meeting in Cairo between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Egyptian Presidency noted that the leaders focused on regional developments, especially concerning Gaza and Lebanon. Both leaders stressed the critical nature of the situation and the necessity for de-escalation. They reiterated their dedication to achieving lasting peace through establishing an independent Palestinian state as per international resolutions.

The leaders emphasised that ignoring the Palestinian issue would only extend conflicts in the region. They called for immediate steps to calm tensions, including ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon, alongside efforts to improve humanitarian conditions. Respecting Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity was also highlighted as crucial.
During their discussions, they exchanged views on various regional matters. The security of the Red Sea region was a key topic, along with situations in Sudan, Libya, and Syria. These discussions underscored their shared concerns about stability across these areas.
At the conclusion of their meeting, President El-Sisi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed agreements to form the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council. This council will be co-chaired by both leaders. Additionally, they agreed on measures to encourage and protect mutual investments between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The establishment of this council aims to enhance cooperation between the two nations on various fronts. It reflects their commitment to working closely together for mutual benefits while addressing regional challenges collaboratively.
