Saudi Minister Ahmed Al-Rajhi Leads Delegation At World Summit For Social Development In Doha

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi represented Saudi Arabia at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar, from November 4 to 6. This event gathered ministers, senior officials, and leaders from international and regional organisations, alongside civil society representatives. The summit's primary focus was on eradicating poverty, promoting full employment, and advancing social inclusion globally.

The summit also aimed to address ongoing disparities and reaffirm the global commitment to social development. It sought to bolster support for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Al-Rajhi stressed that global challenges necessitate enhanced international cooperation and innovative development models that ensure justice and sustainability.

Saudi Minister Leads Delegation at Summit

Al-Rajhi highlighted that under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's leadership, Saudi Arabia prioritises human dignity and rights protection as part of Saudi Vision 2030. He mentioned national programs focusing on providing decent work opportunities, enhancing social protection, and ensuring equitable access to education, healthcare, and housing.

He also noted Saudi Arabia's dedication to food security and climate action through initiatives like the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative. These efforts aim to promote sustainable agricultural production while investing in digital transformation and artificial intelligence to build a diversified economy based on knowledge.

Al-Rajhi emphasised that women's and youth participation is crucial in Saudi Arabia’s development journey. Their involvement is seen as a cornerstone for achieving the nation's broader developmental goals. By empowering these groups, Saudi Arabia aims to foster a more inclusive society where everyone can contribute meaningfully.

The minister reiterated that addressing global challenges requires collective efforts from all nations. He called for adopting innovative approaches that align with justice and sustainability principles. This collaborative spirit is essential for overcoming obstacles in an interconnected world.
