Saudi Arabia's Participation In Davos 2025 Showcases Leadership In Global Industrial Transformation
Saudi Arabia's involvement in the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos underscores its significant global influence and commitment to industrial and mining advancements. Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, highlighted that sustainability is central to Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom is actively pursuing this through initiatives like "Saudi Green" and "Middle East Green," which aim to tackle environmental issues, cut carbon emissions, and promote afforestation.
Alkhorayef emphasised that Saudi Arabia's strategy for industrial and mining transformation rests on three pillars. The first involves strengthening strategic partnerships with both private sector entities and international organisations to foster innovative, sustainable solutions. The second pillar focuses on digital transformation by leveraging technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and 3D printing. These technologies are intended to boost production efficiency, lower emissions, and open up new economic opportunities.

The third pillar of Saudi Arabia's strategy is centred on human capital development. Alkhorayef stated that the Kingdom is committed to equipping national talents with the skills needed to lead economic and social transformations. This effort aims to achieve sustainable development goals by preparing a workforce capable of driving future growth.
In addition to these pillars, Saudi Arabia is enhancing its regulatory and legislative framework to attract investments, particularly in the mining sector. This sector is crucial for diversifying income sources and stimulating economic growth. Alkhorayef noted that developing critical mineral industries for future technologies like electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy positions the Kingdom as a global leader in these strategic areas.
Alkhorayef affirmed that Saudi Arabia seeks a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation through its initiatives. These efforts contribute not only to global economic stability but also lay the groundwork for a more inclusive and sustainable future. The Kingdom's participation in Davos 2025 provides a platform to strengthen international partnerships and share expertise globally.
This engagement at Davos will support efforts to find innovative solutions for shared challenges while reinforcing Saudi Arabia's role as a key player in shaping future transformations. By focusing on sustainability, digital innovation, and human capital development, the Kingdom aims to drive comprehensive progress across various sectors.
Saudi Arabia's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality reflects its dedication to fostering comprehensive development while addressing environmental concerns. Through strategic initiatives and international collaboration, the Kingdom continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future on the world stage.
