Saudi Arabia, China Forge Ahead With Air Transport Cooperation MoU
In a significant move to bolster air transportation ties, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Dauilej, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, represented by Administrator Song Zhiyong. This pivotal agreement was formalized during a strategic visit by Saudi civil-aviation officials to China, marking a milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in the air transportation sector.
The MoU encompasses several key areas aimed at enhancing the air transportation framework between Saudi Arabia and China. Among the critical points of cooperation are the expansion of air transportation stops, the promotion of air traffic, and the development and regulation of cooperative frameworks in transportation and air freight. This agreement not only signifies a mutual desire to strengthen ties but also lays down a foundation for future collaboration in these areas.

Furthermore, the MoU includes an initial consensus to update the existing bilateral agreement on air transportation between the two countries. This update aims to boost global connectivity, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy. Through these efforts, both nations anticipate an increase in trade exchange and economic growth, fostering a stronger bilateral relationship.
This development was officially announced by SPA at 02:12 local time (23:12 GMT), highlighting its significance in enhancing international air transport links and promoting economic prosperity between Saudi Arabia and China.
