Saudi Arabia Chairs Sixth Meeting Of Anti-Corruption GlobE Network In Azerbaijan

Saudi Arabia, through its Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), led the sixth plenary meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in Azerbaijan from May 20 to 23. Nazaha President Mazin Al-Kahmous emphasised the Kingdom's dedication to enhancing both bilateral and multilateral cooperation by creating joint mechanisms and sharing expertise.

Al-Kahmous highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment to pursuing corrupt individuals, recovering stolen assets, and promoting justice. He stated that these efforts reaffirm the Kingdom’s crucial role in supporting global anti-corruption initiatives and its dedication to collaborative action. The Kingdom's support for the GlobE Network aligns with its vision and objectives.

Saudi Arabia Leads Anti-Corruption Meeting

The GlobE Network, initiated by Saudi Arabia during the 2020 G20 summit ministerial meeting it hosted, was officially adopted by the United Nations during the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption. In just three years, it has expanded to include 235 anti-corruption agencies and international organisations from over 126 countries.

In February 2025, Saudi Arabia took on the presidency of the GlobE Network at the UN Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, for the 2025–2027 term. This achievement highlights Saudi leadership’s commitment to establishing itself as a global leader in various fields, including combating corruption. It also reflects international confidence in Saudi efforts led by Nazaha.

The international community recognises Saudi Arabia's efforts in tackling transnational corruption and developing effective tools to address emerging trends and concealment of illicit proceeds. This recognition underscores Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in global anti-corruption efforts.

The GlobE Network's rapid growth demonstrates its significant global impact and success. With over 235 agencies involved, it shows how collaborative efforts can effectively combat corruption worldwide. The network continues to expand its reach and influence across numerous countries.

This ongoing commitment by Saudi Arabia not only strengthens its position as a leader in anti-corruption but also enhances global cooperation against corruption. The Kingdom remains dedicated to fostering justice and transparency on an international scale.
