Saudi Arabia Leads First Regular Session Of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council In Riyadh

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Mazyed, led the inaugural session of the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council in Riyadh. This meeting included key cybersecurity officials from Arab League member states and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League. Eng. Al-Mazyed highlighted that Saudi Arabia's initiative to form this council is rooted in its commitment to collective Arab security.

Eng. Al-Mazyed expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering support and guidance. He praised their dedication to fostering Arab cooperation and security. The council's formation underscores the critical role of cybersecurity in promoting development, prosperity, and stability while maintaining international peace.

Saudi Arabia Chairs Arab Cybersecurity Council Session

The Secretary-General of the Arab League stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration among Arab nations amid evolving cybersecurity threats. During the session, members reviewed several working papers from various Arab League countries. The council made crucial decisions, including initiating work on an Arab Cybersecurity Strategy and appointing a Secretary-General and executive office members for the council. Eng. Al-Mazyed emphasized that the council aims to enhance cooperation with fellow Arab nations to protect vital interests and resources. He acknowledged that support from Arab leaders highlights cybersecurity's significance in fostering development and stability.

Aboul Gheit extended his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its pioneering role in establishing the council. He believes this initiative will be a valuable addition to strengthening the region's national security framework.
