This decision was made during a recent meeting at the organization's headquarters in Rabat, Morocco. The appointment highlights Saudi Arabia's significant influence and standing in both regional and international civil aviation sectors.

Captain Sulaiman Saleh Almuhaimedi, Executive Vice President of Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), remarked on this achievement. His comments underscore the Kingdom's growing leadership roles within these bodies.

Saudi Arabia Chairs ACAO Air Navigation Committee

The Kingdom's election as chair follows its previous appointment as chair of the ACAO Executive Council. It also holds membership in various committees within the organization. These roles enhance Saudi Arabia’s influence in ensuring air navigation safety and demonstrate its active involvement in specialized international civil aviation organizations.

GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej leads the ACAO Executive Council. He was elected during the 28th Ordinary General Assembly of ACAO, which took place in July in Rabat, Morocco. His leadership further cements Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing civil aviation cooperation among Arab states.

Saudi Arabia is not only a founding member but also a key supporter of ACAO. Established in 1996, this Arab League-affiliated organization aims to enhance cooperation and coordination among Arab countries in civil aviation matters. The Kingdom's involvement has been pivotal since its inception.

The rapid transition from participant to leader within these committees signifies Saudi Arabia’s dedication to advancing its role on both regional and global stages. GACA has recently taken charge of several committees and working groups, reflecting this shift towards leadership.

This development reinforces Saudi Arabia’s commitment to playing a leading role in civil aviation safety and sustainability. The Kingdom continues to contribute actively to international efforts aimed at improving air navigation standards and practices across the globe.
