Saudi Arabia Waives Municipal Fees To Propel Tourism And Hospitality Growth

Saudi Arabia has taken a significant step to enhance its tourism and hospitality industry by suspending municipal service fees for issuing licenses for hotels, hotel apartments, and residential resorts. This move is expected to further stimulate growth in the sector.

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their support. "The approval comes within the framework of the unlimited support of the wise leadership for the tourism sector in the Kingdom, and it represents an important step within the ongoing efforts to provide an attractive investment environment for investors and enhance competitiveness in the promising sector," he said.

Al-Khateeb highlighted that this decision is part of broader efforts to streamline the investor journey by removing barriers that hinder investment opportunities. "This will contribute to developing the infrastructure in the tourism sector, especially with regard to hospitality facilities in tourist destinations in the Kingdom," he added.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that this government decision stems from one of the initiatives under the Investment Enablers Program launched by the Ministry of Tourism in March. The program's goal is to facilitate investment in tourism, reduce operating costs, and increase competitiveness by adhering to international standards.

The initiative aims to make Saudi Arabia a leading destination for tourism investment by creating an attractive environment for investors. The suspension of municipal service fees is seen as a crucial step towards achieving this goal.
