Saudi's Quality Of Life Program Elevates National Sports Sector
The Quality of Life Program in Saudi Arabia aims to elevate the nation’s status in sports by enhancing various sectors through initiatives led by the Ministry of Sports and other relevant bodies. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on increasing community participation in sports and achieving excellence at regional and global levels.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia hosted several international sports events, including the Italian Super Cup featuring Inter Milan, Napoli, Lazio, and Fiorentina. The Spanish Super Cup also garnered significant media attention, reaching over 3.8 billion people across 78 countries. These events highlight the Kingdom's commitment to becoming a premier destination for global sports championships.

The "Vital Places" initiative saw the organisation of various sports events and races, such as the first Riyadh International Marathon. This event attracted over 15,000 participants from around the world. Additionally, the closed Sports Dome in Dammam was inaugurated, offering more than 15 different sports activities with over 43,100 registered beneficiaries.
The Neighborhood Clubs educational recreational centres also witnessed significant growth. In 2023, these centres registered over 35,000 students across 45 clubs in the Kingdom. Membership in these clubs rose to 15,000 members during the same year.
Senior Citizens' Engagement
The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) launched the "Seniors Project" in collaboration with Newcastle United Foundation. This initiative is the first of its kind targeting older adults to increase their physical activity levels. Over 1,800 participants have joined this program aimed at promoting healthy and active lifestyles among senior citizens.
To further solidify its position as a leading host for international sports events and boost local participation in sports competitions, Saudi Arabia organised the 2023 AlUla Tour. This event saw participation from 112 cyclists representing 16 countries.
These efforts are part of a broader strategy to achieve two main goals under Saudi Vision 2030: enhancing community engagement in sports and excelling in various sports disciplines both regionally and globally.
