Saudi Arabia Sets Sights On Sports Excellence At Paris 2024 Olympics
The CEO of the Quality of Life Program, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Bakr, confirmed that the Kingdom’s participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games "Paris 2024" is part of comprehensive efforts to build a distinguished future for the sports sector. This initiative aligns with the goals of Vision 2030, aiming for sports excellence and fostering a vibrant sports environment for Saudi youth.
Al-Bakr highlighted that this participation reflects the support from the country's leadership and the Ministry of Sports. The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, under Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, has been instrumental in these efforts. Their combined efforts aim to achieve the strategic goal set by Vision 2030 for the Quality of Life Program: "achieving excellence in several sports regionally and globally."

Since its inception in 2018, the program has launched numerous initiatives to develop the sports sector. One notable initiative is the Elite Athletes Development Program, which trains and empowers Saudi athletes participating in the Paris Olympics. Additionally, there are initiatives focused on supporting and empowering women within the sports system.
Al-Bakr emphasized that these initiatives aim to discover, develop, and support sports talents. The goal is to create a generation capable of competing in various regional and international events while keeping pace with advancements achieved by other countries in sports.
The program also includes initiatives like the Saudi Games and building sports academies such as Mahd Academy. These efforts contribute significantly to increasing the number of athletes participating in international competitions like the Olympics.
Al-Bakr stated that these initiatives are designed to foster a competitive spirit among young athletes. By providing them with necessary training and resources, they can represent Saudi Arabia on global platforms effectively.
The integrated approach taken by the Quality of Life Program aims not only at immediate success but also at long-term development. This ensures that Saudi athletes are well-prepared to meet international standards and excel in their respective fields.
The Kingdom's participation in Paris 2024 is a testament to its commitment to achieving sporting excellence. Through continuous support and strategic initiatives, Saudi Arabia aims to build a robust sports sector that can compete globally.
